Project Objective & Background
Kyushu University (KU), Japan, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), China, and Pusan National University (PNU), Korea, formed a consortium in global human resources education and started the CAMPUS Asia EEST program titled “Cooperational Graduate Education Program for the
Development of Global Human Resources in Energy and Environmental Science and Technology” in 2011.
The program aims to cultivate human resources who have (i) highly specialized expertise and research development skill based on the expertise, (ii) understanding of current energy and environmental issues and progressive investigation skills, (iii) globally-competent English language skill, (iv) professional ethics required for researchers and engineers in the globalized era as well as an understanding of different cultures/races/
societies.
Based on the success of the CAMPUS Asia EEST, we propose a CAMPUS Asia Plus project with the new participation of Universiti Teknologi
Malaysia (UTM) from ASEAN. The main objectives of the proposed CAMPUS Asia Plus project are to broaden students’ horizons to the world through Asia-Pacific and to increase the opportunities for international research experiences for doctoral course students.
